Shree Ram Sharnam Ashram in Dalhousie is a very special place located in Upper Bakrota, more than 8000 feet above sea level in Himachal Pradesh. This holy site, also known as Param Dham, is where Swami Satyanand Ji performed severe penances in 1925, living on very simple and minimal food. Surrounded by deep valleys and mountains, the Ashram offers an incredible sense of purity and peace. Visitors can hear the unique chirping of a mysterious bird that sounds like it’s saying ‘Ram! Ram!’ To reach the Ashram, one must travel by road to the foot of the hill and then walk or trek about 300 meters up a ramp and steps.
