Founded in 2013 as a volunteer-led initiative, ACRI initially began as a Facebook group named "Arts and Culture Opportunities, Residencies, Workshops, Jobs in India" to address the lack of resources in arts administration. Over the years, ACRI has expanded significantly, now boasting a vibrant online community of over 60,000 members. This platform serves as a hub for cultural professionals to share resources, connect, and collaborate on various creative and administrative projects.

To further enhance its impact, ACRI has launched city-specific Chapters across India, aiming to engage local arts communities in meaningful ways. These Chapters offer networking sessions, skill development workshops, and presentations that focus on non-artistic, industry-related topics.
