The Urusvati Himalayan Folk & Art Museum (Uruswati) sightseeing in Naggar is an intriguing destination located in Naggar, Himachal Pradesh. Positioned within the Roerich Estate, the museum is just 100 meters uphill from the Nicolas K. Roerich Art Gallery. Founded in 1928 by Russian Professor Nicolas Roerich and his wife, it originally served as a research institute focused on Tibetan and Indian medicine. The name “Uruswati,” meaning “Light of the Morning Star,” was officially adopted in 1993. The museum offers a diverse collection of Russian and regional folk art, featuring musical instruments, stone carvings, and vibrant costumes from Lahaul-Spiti, Kullu, Ladakh, and Tibet. Visitors can also enjoy original paintings by Roerich and his Russian disciples.
